His number one piece of advice is “Don’t trust your male friends.”

I mean, seriously? SERIOUSLY?

He goes on to advise, “Don’t go to a man’s home at night unless you’re prepared to have sex with him. Don’t disrobe in front of a male masseur. If you take a job as a masseuse, don’t be shocked if your male customers think you’re a prostitute. And if you want to be taken seriously as a journalist, don’t pose for pictures that emphasize your cleavage.”

And his reason? “the human animal— especially the male animal— craves drama as much as food, shelter and clothing. Conquering an unwilling sex partner is about as much drama as a man can find without shooting a gun”

I am stunned. This man isn’t portraying himself as merely a rape apologist, but a sympathizer. Not for rape victims, but for rapists.

He has written an article which states that he understands why men rape, and that women should simply stay out of the way.

Sounds like he’s looking for reasons why it’s okay to do it…which makes me instantly suspicious of him. Women shouldn’t have to do anything to NOT BE RAPED. Men should NOT RAPE. Rape isn’t “conquering women” - it’s a disgusting stripping of human dignity.

This made me sick to my stomach. I can’t form the words to convey just how unhappy I am with this.
